Poodle Information

This club is the only Club in NSW that represents all three varieties of the Breed

Standard 38cms (15 inches) and over at the shoulder

Miniature Under 38cms (15 inches) but not under 28cms (11 inches)

Toy Under 28cms (11 inches)

Please Note: There is no such thing as a Teacup Toy nor a Royal Standard Poodle - these are names used in advertising as gimmicks.

When other breeds are bred to Poodles the resulting puppies are cross breeds, not a recognised breed.

The Codes of Ethics of both the Poodle Club of NSW and the RNSWCC forbids members using their registered stock with unregistered stock or registered stock of another breed.

Poodle Specialty Shows

The Club conducts two Specialty Championship Shows and one Obedience Trial each year.

Where possible, an overseas specialist judge is invited to officiate at one of the Shows and an Australian judge for the second.

On April 7 & 8, 2007 The Poodle Club of NSW Inc. hosted the
Eighth National Poodle Specialty Championship Show and Obedience Trial.

The "Nationals" are held every two years and rotate around the state clubs who make up The National Poodle Council.

The year 2007 was the third occasion that the Poodle Club of NSW has hosted the "National".

Poodles and their owners came from every state of Australia to take part in this major event at Panthers World of Entertainment.
