Information about the Poodle Club of NSW Inc
You can read more about the Club by using the drop down boxes under this tab. Here’s an easy to read outline of some of the Club’s main features.
The broad aim of the Poodle Club of NSW Inc is to promote and showcase the pure bred Poodle.
THE CLUB’S GOALS - Some of the Club’s goals are:
• To encourage new Poodle owners to join and participate in Club activities;
• To provide advice to newcomers on rearing their puppies, grooming and health care;
• To share advice with those who wish to train and show their Poodles;
• To mentor those who wish to breed Poodles; and
• To hold shows with classes for conformation and obedience.

WHO DOES THE CLUB REPRESENT - The Poodle Club of NSW Inc represents all three varieties of the Breed. These varieties are defined by size (not colour) and are:
• Standard: 38cm (15 inches) and over at the shoulder
• Miniature: under 38cm but not under 28cm (11 inches) at the shoulder
• Toy: under 28cm (11 inches) at the shoulder
Names and labels such as Teacup Poodle, or Royal Standard Poodle, are not recognised varieties.
CLUB ACTIVITIES - The Club organizes a number of different activities including fun days and information sessions for members (currently being further developed), and it conducts two Specialty Championship Shows and one Obedience Trial each year which all members and the public are welcome to attend. PARTNERS - The Poodle Club of NSW Inc is affiliated with Dogs NSW (the Royal NSW Canine Council) which is a member of the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC). The ANKC is the peak body for pure bred dog organisations in Australia.
The Club is also a member of the National Poodle Council which operates under the auspices of the ANKC.
CLUB HISTORY – The Poodle Club of NSW Inc was established in 1955. You can read more about the Club’s History in the History drop down box.
LEGALITIES AND ORGANISATION - The Poodle Club of NSW Inc is a legally incorporated "not for profit" organization. Like most such organisations it is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 and later laws.
