The Poodle Club does much of its work through two types of meetings:

• General Meetings including the Annual General Meeting

• Committee Meetings

General Meetings

All Members are welcome to attend and vote at General Meetings. Members can move motions and give notice of motions.

General Meetings take place (unless otherwise advised) on the third Monday of each month, at 7.30pm and conclude between 9.30pm and 10pm. The venue is:

Members have the opportunity at General Meetings to scrutinize the decisions of the Committee and either endorse them or change them. Where desired Special General Meetings can be called to address particular issues. At Annual General Meetings (AGMs) Members elect all Committee Members and Office Bearers.

Committee Meetings

The Committee meets at least once every second month (Constitution Article 8.5.1) and usually monthly.

The Committee comprises the Office Bearers and three additional Members. Other Members of the Club are entitled to attend the Committee meetings, with the permission of the Committee, but they are not entitled to vote.

Committee Meetings usually take place between General Meetings to ensure that Motions passed at the General Meetings are dealt with promptly and generally to carry out the work of the Club in a timely fashion. The venue for Committee Meetings is:

In 2012 a new venue may be established for committee meetings. Generally, in the period leading up to the National Poodle Show in March 2013 the committee meetings will focus strongly on organising that show. You can read more about Committee Meetings in Articles 8 and 9 of the Constitution.
